WELCOMING CEREMONY AND RIBBON CUTTING FOR NEW BUILDING TO TAKE PLACE AT THE END OF OCTOBER

"On behalf of the board, staff and clients at Verdugo Mental Health, we thank our donors for their contributions to our VMH CARE Building Donation Fund.  We appreciate your support of our future vision and value your commitment to who we are and what we do. THANK YOU FOR CARING AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE."

Verdugo Mental Health (soon to be known as VMH CARE) has been providing community mental health services from an outdated facility at 1540 Colorado Street in Glendale, California for several years. The current facility is an aggregation of “store front” buildings that have their beginnings over 60 years ago. The facilities have served VMH well, but are now in a state of inability to meet future needs.

Verdugo Mental Health has embarked on a new facility building program on its current campus in Glendale. A new clinic building is being constructed to replace the current facilities. The building has been designed around current methods of delivering behavioral health clinic services to clients in need. The new facility will encompass approximately 14,400 square feet in two stories. In addition, the facility will include 28 parking spaces in a partial subterranean level. Further, 55 parking spaces will be provided on the exterior area. The building will house adult clinic services on the ground floor and children’s clinic services on the second floor. The new building will be joined with a current 3,800 square foot building which will be renovated to house administration, finance, and clinic support operations. In total the new facility will contain over 18,000 square feet. Once the new building is completed and operations are moved, the existing dated facilities will be demolished to provide parking and entry areas. The entire project cost is in excess of $7,000,000 and is financed through California Health Facilities Financing Authority issued bonds insured by the State of California Cal-Mortgage Insurance Program.

VMH has just completed it fiftieth year of community service and looks to provide service many years into the future through this state of the art facility and highly qualified staff. Although base financing has been obtained, VMH is in need of community financial support to outfit the building and support operations.
